A massive thank you to the team at Limini. Over two years ago we started researching the idea of starting a tearoom / coffee shop to see what support there was, it soon became apparent from the informative “Limini Coffee” web site that they were a company that supported start up a business with practical and common-sense information. We spent time reading the free information provided to help develop our plans, on the various stages of the business planning process. We identified the two day “How to Start a Coffee Shop” course as a firm foundation to proceed with our plans. From our first contact with Limini where Bex answered our initial questions regarding the course and the booking process, to the complete course presentation all of the Limini staff we met were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the services provided. An example of this was Ruth, another trainer took time to discuss our plans during her lunchtime as did Youri the owner of Limini during a visit to the training area. Our course leader was Vicki who took time to put us at ease and listened to our plans and what our requirements were from the course. The mix of practical / theory content was excellent. Where Vicki excelled in our view was how she adapted the course to meet our specific questions / requirements and took us from a coffee customer to a level where we both could deliver coffee to an acceptable standard. We would also recommend this course to anyone whose main business focus is a tearoom rather than a coffee shop as is our focus, because the business information given is fully transferable and practical information is given on tea making and equipment available to make serving tea a memorable experience for your customers. The coffee was the best we had ever tasted and we have come away feeling more positive than ever that we are heading in the right direction for our future. I had Vicki as my teacher and she was amazing! I already had a bit of knowledge about how to make coffee but after being shown how to make perfect milk we were on to mastering lattes and cappuccinos. We even had chance to go onto some latte art, which I throughly enjoyed. I will hopefully be coming back again in a month or so to learn more in depth latte art and fingers crossed I will have Vicki as my teacher again as she was lovely. Thank you again - Grace

The course was very informative and our trainer Ruth made it interesting and fun which made the learning much easier. I learned things I knew very little about and I now feel confident that I can go on to develop my knowledge and skills much further. I had a really great time on the Barista training course with Vicki. As a complete beginner I wasn't sure how much I could learn in 3 hours, but it was surprising how much I got from it. I feel more excited about my business idea and I will definitely be back at Limini for more training. The coffee tasted awesome and if my business gets off the ground I definitely want to be serving it in my shop. - Christy

I have recently completed a 2 day course at Limini on setting up a coffee shop. The course covered every aspect that you need to make the decision on whether to proceed or not. Vicki was totally professional and provided all the tools needed to get to grips with the financial details. I would highly recommend taking the 2 day version of the course to ensure that you get the full benefit. - Rob

I thoroughly enjoyed the half-day Barista Course. It built on my knowledge and took it to the next level. The chance to be taught how to use a commercial machine by somebody as knowledgeable, interested and able as Ruth was invaluable. This course was awesome! I came with a vague interest in coffee but a strong interest in managing a coffee shop. I came away with a new-found respect for the coffee making business (and having drunk the best coffee I remember having!), and a very detailed understanding of what I need to do next.
