Had a very enjoyable and educational evening's training with Tim down in Petersfield. Tim certainly knows his stuff but also is very capable of getting it across in a fun and accessible way. Learnt lots about machines and setup and then as much practice and tasting as we wanted (and could cope with!) - that's set the bar pretty high now for my home coffee making attempts and I can't wait to put in all into practice - but first I need a decent grinder and some top-end coffee - hmm wonder where I can get that from?! I got my place on the course as a birthday present and have already recommended it as a great gift option to a few friends. - Colin

It was fantastic to finally meet Youri and Howard in person; they certainly lived up to their reputation! They ran a great course with good insights into coffee basics (grind, tamp, dose) as well as latte art and improving overall service standards. Jamie and I learnt a lot of good applicable techniques (including stopping some old habits!) that we took back to Urban and started to put in place straight away. Patient, knowledgable, with a passion for producing good coffee that about describes Youri. We had a fantastic evening being taught the dark art of latte production. Not only the art but a brief insight into cupping and roasting made it a complete package for me. Highly recommended to learner and expert. - Ian

All I can say is WOW! I did this with a couple of friends and it was one of the best days out we've had. Tim who ran the course was an absolute guru - but what made it exceptional was his ability to share and pass on his wealth of knowledge. The only downside to taking this course is no coffee could ever compare to Tim's masterpieces. Tim has definitely raised the bar on our coffee knowledge and appreciation. I just come over to visit Youri and congratulate him for the new training center. Tim's passion and enthusiasm for coffee was infectious. As domestic drinkers, purchasing a top of the range coffee machine is't an option (more for those in the business), but there was just enough information on history, regional taste differences in coffee beans, cultivation etc to keep us interested. We gained a huge appreciation for the 11 factors that can influence the perfect cup of coffee, and how a subtle change in one can make a big difference! It was also interesting to learn what effects an overindulgence in coffee produces! - Regan S

Three of us had a great day touching up our barrista skills, learning about the coffee making process from the origins of the coffee bean to my first sip of a perfectly extracted espresso and generally having a laugh with Tim who's a top guy and really knows his coffee. I took enough notes to be able to re-teach myself at home if I forget the skills Tim taught us. - Lance J
