When I was on my way for my barista course, I was repeating all the questions that I want to ask, I brought a notebook and a pen, just to make sure that I have everything important written. Once I went in, I was welcomed by my trainer Stuart, who created such a friendly atmosphere that made me believe I'm going to have a great day! From the first shot of espresso, I was impressed by the taste of Limini's blend and by the way that Stuart was explaining everything step by step, so everything is easy to be understood and remembered. I ended up not even looking at the notebook that I took with me. He managed to make it all so clear - from the way that the coffee is roasted, through setting up the grinder, the machine, making the perfect espresso and pouring amazing Latte Art on top of it. At the end of the day I had all the answers without even having to ask a question myself! So it doesn't matter if you're going for commercial purposes, or you want to learn how to produce a great coffee at home, Limini is the best place to learn at. Thank you for the amazing day! Rossy
I did the one-to-one theory course with Youri. It was just what I needed! Youri's knowledge is first class and answered all the queries/concerns I had about opening a coffee shop. I was particularly interested in the financial aspects and these were answered to perfection. Even input relating to the layout helps enormously in providing you with direction in how to maximise beneficial use of your premises. The three hour session, heavily laden with some superb coffee!, is a must do before you even consider looking for premises to start your venture. Many thanks, Gary
Before I went on the one day How to Start a Coffee Shop course with Stuart, I didn't really have much clue about what would go into starting a coffee shop. I have an idea of what I want but knew I needed more information before I can start to turn it into reality. I also considered myself a bit of a challenge because I don't like coffee (although that will of course mean I won't be drinking my profits!). Stuart is very easy to get along with and an excellent trainer. It's testament to both him and the visually beautiful coffees that he produces that I found myself drinking caramel latte before I'd even been there for an hour! I still don't like the taste of coffee but I can appreciate now how it should be made and what a great coffee smells like. I have come away with plenty of practical and very useful information about setting up my own coffee shop which is exactly what I wanted and had to smile a few days after the course when I found myself in a well-known coffee chain watching closely how the coffee was made and thinking a well, that's not how I was taught to do it! Limini have set the standards very high and I know that on the day my coffee shop opens, the training I have had and the excellent support that Limini offer will mean that people who choose my shop will do so because it's not a chain, the coffee is fabulous and the customers are more than just numbers who come through the door. Thanks for a great day! - Christine
Apart from being an avid coffee lover, and part-time coffee snob, I knew nothing about the 'art' of brewing the perfect shot. My barista nephew joined me for a 2-1 day course, How to start a Coffee Shop, including Latte Art. I thought he would be bored as I ventured into what I imagined would be facts and figures, and the occasional brew of the magnificent bean... I was so wrong! Stuart, our facilitator, was really welcoming, and used his great sense of humor to take us both on the journey of the proverbial Bean. The theory part was in-depth and covered not only the basics, but marketing ideas financial models to work from. The latte art was wonderful, and the combination of the two courses gave us so much to think through, and so many ideas we had not considered. To not mention Stuarts obvious passion of the work he does would be a shame - he clearly knows his El Salvador from his Kenyan, and made the day so much more enjoyable than we anticipated. There after service manual has every bit of information you could possible wish for. Whether you are just looking to do a Barista course, or are looking to dive into the world of serving up the best coffee possible, Limini is the place to go - you really wont be sorry! - Samantha
Everyone at Limini is passionate about coffee and very friendly. Stuart, our trainer for the "How to set up a coffee shop course", is very knowledgeable and an excellent barista. Not only did he make wonderful coffee, he patiently showed us (there were three of us on the course) how to do it too. Sadly, I was pretty useless at the milk art but Stuart patiently showed me again and again. I can't stress enough what a nice guy Stuart is and how welcome everyone made us. The course was full of information, tips and advice plus hands on experience with different coffees, grinders and espresso machines. 5-star rating from me and many thanks - Fiona
I thoroughly enjoyed the one day course and left motivated and feeling much more confident. Youri managed to create a very welcoming atmosphere and at the end of the day we definitely felt that we learnt a lot! He patiently answered all our (endless) questions and made sure to guide us with all the important aspects a coffee shop business involves: finance, marketing, staff management and of course, the coffee making itself. He is not only knowledgeable but also very passionate about what he is doing and keeps a perfect balance between sound explanation and enjoyable hands on practice. I particularly enjoyed the explanation about coffee roasting and different blends and of course, the actual making of the coffee. I had't been near a coffee machine before, and at the end of the day I was feeling quite confident and really looking forward to practising more. And the best? The coffee itself, of course! I have been missing it ever since, it must have been some of the best coffee I have ever tasted; so I am determined to make this dream happen and, with Limini's help, spread and share the joy of perfectly made coffee! Silvana
Before going on the "How to run a coffee shop" course, I felt about 50% excited and 50% terrified at the thought of opening a coffee shop. Now I'm about 90% excited! The pace was unhurried, and mixed useful theory with the practical skills necessary, but I was amazed at the amount I covered in a single day. Stuart was a great tutor, who really knows his stuff. We drank a lot of coffee! - Chris
I loved the course, it was great doing the one-to-one session as I could tailor it to concentrate on the bits I was more interested in. Stuart was great, and made me feel very relaxed, also Stuarts coffee was superb! I got to practice some latte art which was a bonus, was not expecting to actually get to make coffee. The Limini coffee own blend is divine, literally the best I have ever had. The support the give afterwards is great, they email you a part of the Allegra report which I was particularly happy with and numerous spread sheets to help you with pricing, P&L ext. The course was just great! - Kellie
We loved the course. It gave me a much better understanding of coffee and provided loads of useful pieces of advice and information which can be used at home. The equipment is top quality and the tuition informal but packed with information. I'd definitely recommend it. - Jamie
Everything about this course contributed to making it the best course I've been on! Youri, your teaching style is spot on, don't ever change it. Effortless, relaxed, funny and focused. The small group sizes made it feel like I was getting one to one teaching whilst still learning with my peers. The training studio is so well thought out, really simple but everything we needed, from the group area to those fabulous coffee machines. Youri taught me loads on this course and the most important lesson I learnt was that it's actually not the right time for me to embark on this project and I need to give it more thought and make sure it's the right thing for me. This is exactly what I wanted from this course. Having said that, the highlight was making the coffee, I actually really miss making cappuccinos and when I go into the coffee shop now I want to get behind the counter! The Limini coffee was also delish! I haven't tasted a cappuccino that nice since. Thank you Youri and thank you to your wonderful team who provided impeccable customer service. SJ
