My boyfriend and I started thinking about potentially opening a coffee shop a few months back but we are both from a completely different background and were a bit unsure of how doable this was.... Then we found Limini and signed up for the 2 day course on how to start-up a coffee shop and it was such an eye opener! In 2 days we covered more stuff than I could have possibly hoped for, from coffee to steaming milk to latte art, writing our business plan, budgeting for costs, designing a shop, etc. Our trainer Vicki was so much fun to work with, she is an amazing person full of energy, passionate about what she does, knows EVERYTHING about coffee and the coffee business and she answered all 5000 questions we had! My mind is still buzzing and I am so excited and can't wait to get started! The atmosphere at Limini is like nowhere else I had been before when I started thinking about coffee as a business, I would recommend to anyone to sign up. BEST SPENT MONEY EVER. After I decided to quit my job and start a coffee shop, I needed some guidance in how to do it. Even though Limini Coffee was the first course I found online I tried to look for other courses closer to home in London. After a long search, I decided that Limini looked by far the best. So I booked the course and went to Leeds. I had the pleasure of having Youri as my trainer. Even though I have done many other courses before and even trained some myself, I feel that this course was truly special. It was extremely personal and tailored to suit my exact needs. Youri made me feel very comfortable and it felt that I was spending the day with a good who was very knowledgeable about coffee shops. He gave me very clear direction on where to start and what to do until I open the doors of my coffee shop and run a successful business. Even though I use to be a barista before, I learned things about coffee I never knew. And trust me, Youri makes a mean cup of coffee! So my advise for anyone who is in my position is to make the booking and do the course. You wont regret it. Limini also offer a great after service and loads of very useful information to take with you. So even though the day might seem pricey, you get so much more. Apologies for the long review, but I want to give you a clear picture on what to expect. I have no regrets and feel that my new career as a business owner is starting today. What a great course! I did the How to Start a Coffee Shop 1 day course which was a good mix of practical hands on coffee making and business theory. Vicki was so friendly and knowledgeable and I learnt a lot. I think the course was good value and would definitely recommend to anyone considering opening a coffee shop/cafe. Vicki had lots of tips and tricks to avoid getting caught out during the early stages of the business. And the Limini coffee we used was delicious :) Thanks a lot! Matt

It was an unusual birthday present, but going from zero to mastering every coffee on the menu (not to mention understanding why bad coffee tastes so unsatisfying) was the most fun we've had in a kitchen, and I've never laughed so much on a course - Vicki is a fantastic teacher - I wouldn't have believed I'd be banging out excellent flat whites within a few hours. We headed to Zucco's Italian in Leeds for superb tapas for lunch with our heads still swimming on a caffiene high, and it turned out their staff were at Limini the next day for the same course... My wife and I had a fantastic morning with Vicki learning how to make that elusive perfect cup of coffee. The course had an excellent balance between teaching and practical and we learned so much about the whole process. Vicki was so knowledgeable and made the morning enjoyable with the added very small element of competitiveness! We are both now on the verge of being coffee snobs and will be checking out if the baristas in the coffee shops are doing it right! I would like to thank Vicki for what was an exceptional day. Picture this: 4 middle aged men learning Latte Art you've never seen so much mess!!! We loved it. Vicki's knowledge, passion and presentational skills are first class. Her love of coffee shines through and you see her passion delivered with great professionalism and humour. if you want to understand how coffee works and how to make an excellent coffee rather than an average one this is the course to do. By the end of the day you will think very differently about where you buy your next drink and you will definitely time the Baristas next extraction time and who knows maybe challenge them if you think they've got it wrong.
